Objectives

This topic has been prepared so that those interested in learning about the Editing Essentials acquire the competences with the objective of using the tools in the generation of multimedia content for the O-City project. In this topic we will learn:

- How to edit the project and export the final video

At this point of the course you have:

- Created the concept of your video through the technical script

- Shot all your sequences

- Recorded your audio files and selected the music

In this topic you will learn how to combine all the audiovisual resources to create you final video and export it. Exporting the video means processing all the video to save it in a file so that it can be played by any media player. During this process we must choose the output quality, the codecs that we want to use and other properties that our video will have once this process is finished.

The main objectives of this topic are described in the following video:

The following table shows all the materials preprared for the teacher to learn (T2L) and for the teacher to take them to the classroom (T2T,S2P) for Lesson 1 of Topic 4. Edition. The description of the different types of materials  (T2L, T2T, S2P) can be found here. For each material, teachers can find in this table: its description , the student workload and where the student works. Additionally, recommendations about what to do in the classroom are included (remember that one lesson corresponds to one class of the teacher with her/his students).  Follow the links in the table to discover what O-City has prepared for you:

Start the lesson pointing out the beneficial impact of O-City on the students.

Solve doubts about previous activity A.T4.L1.1

At this point, all students would have their audio-visual finished. You can propose activity EA.T4.L2.1 for a peer review of the multimedia. In this case, multimedia will need to be improved according to the revision.

Do or propose Activity A.T4.L2.1 and optionally, do EA.T4.L2.1 in the classroom

to watch all the audio-visuals developed. Each audio-visual is evaluated by the classroom and there is a final “winner” (gamification)

After this lesson, the teacher should evaluate the multimedia generated (use the rubrics in chapter 9) and upload to O-City World platform those with the required quality
