Recording script readings in the studio

This module has been prepared to train users on issues related to sound and script. So, it will be useful for those who wish to learn how to write a script and what is the relevant information that must be transmitted at the time of spreading a heritage reality through a multimedia element. On the other hand, audio recording knowledge must be incorporated to be able to record it and know how to combine it with music, that accompanies and highlights the values of the cultural or natural good.

Once the module is completed and approved, learners will be able to:

  1. Write a script that summarizes all the values assigned to the heritage reality.
  2. Select the music that best accompanies the script developed.
  3. Learn the elementary concepts about sound recording, to be able to make multimedia content with a quality consistent with the cultural or natural good that we wish to expose.

In this session, we will learn 4 easy tips for recording vocals at home.

We will analyze the 4 fundamental steps that you have to follow in order to set up a home studio that allows you to record voices at home with the highest quality.

The room

It is vitally important to have adequate physical space. We have to attend equally to the chosen microphone as well as to the room where we are going to work.

  • a room that is as quiet as possible
  • a fairly uniform structure (better rectangular than squared)
  • a high ceiling (about 3 meters)
  • away from bathrooms and kitchen
  • that does not contain excessively reflective elements

The microphone

Choose the most appropriate microphone depending on the type of voice and the audio chain.

You can also use the mobile phone to record. You just have to download one of these suggested apps, and REC.

  • Quik
  • Voice Recorder

The Software

Choose the platform with which you are going to record. Audio recording programs allow you to open an audio track, select a microphone input, and record.

  • Voice Record Pro
  • QuickVoice
  • Audacity

The Headphones

To finish, you will need to get a reference system, both to monitor the mix and the recording. Their choice will be determined by the type of instrument we are going to record, in this case the voice and by the type or size of room in which we are going to carry out all this work.

Conclusions

Taking all these recommendations into account will ensure the final viability of the audiovisual project. The quality of the audio is essential for understanding the script that we have prepared.
